Good Things & Scrap Swap??

*I’ve been doing some freelance work this week (thank goodness!) .

*I love to crochet hats. I don’t know what it is, but I can’t stop making them. And, I was featured on both Modish and FunkyFinds this week. Thanks ladies!

*I got my new issue of Crochet Today, and it has some really great projects. Some of which are mine, but I think the other ones are even cuter. Check out this afghan (which would be cool as a curtain) and this super cute owl.

*Tonight we’re going to see some performance art, which should be interesting. I had kind of fallen out of making the effort to see art in New York (I know, I know) so it’s nice to get out and do things again.

*I got some exciting mail from Nicole, pictured below. She sent me a pick-me-up package containing a cute tote, one of her headband kits, Vera napkins (love!), and a green leaf zip pouch which I adore. Thanks Nicole!

*I have been contemplating my next  big project: a baby quilt. My sister found out last week that she is having a boy. I bought the animal fabric a few months ago because she felt strongly that it would be a boy. I can’t wait to get working on it, but have yet to start because I know it is my way of procrastinating on the craft projects that I need to do. I still have four months to complete it.

*I’ve been thinking about organizing a fabric scrap-swap? Would anyone else be interested. (Note: this is not the official sign up, just gauging interest). It would be a way for all of us sewers to trade those leftover pieces that come when we cut patterns, etc. It could be something like 30-45 pieces that are at least 3″x 5″ big (and certainly could be bigger)…..and maybe, one small thing made from the scraps just for fun? I’d kick it off soon to beat the holiday rush. Pipe up if it sounds good and I’ll work up something “official.”

  • Oh! So glad you liked the package!
