Crochet Today Holiday 2007

I was very excited when my issue of Crochet Today arrived in the mailbox–one of my projects, the flowering necklace, made the cover! Yay!

I also contributed this retro boy hat which I really ended up liking. I think I worked the stripes a zillion times to get just the right combination. It’s made with Red Heart Soft, which was actually pretty nice to work with and comes in a lot of colors– good to know if you have a lot of giftmaking on your list.

In other news, I signed up for two knitting classes in town so that I can learn to knit hats- one is a chunky earflap hat, and one is in the round. I’m mosty interested in the in-the-round one, but I signed up with a friend and we could both use a refresher.  There weren’t a ton of crochet classes on offer (which maybe I can fix), although at the competing yarn shop, there are. They’re so inexpensive that I just might have to sign up for all of them.

  • Congratulations! The necklace is gorgeous and well deserving of the cover.

  • Hooray! You're a published professional craft lady :)
That flower necklace is awesome to look at.

I once stayed in an amazing hotel in Pray Montana which adjoined the Chico hot springs. I highly recommend it for a romantic getaway. It's righ near Tetons national park too.

  • that necklace is so pretty!!! i hope i don't screw it up -- HA!

(also, that boy model is cute, whoever he is.)

  • congrats, linda! it's stunning! really. :) and making the cover...superb.

knitting in the round is so addicting. will you be learning to use double pointed needles? i thought they were a bit beastly at first, but i actually learned to *adore* knitting with DPs. very strange! it gets a nice rhythm going that i love and can't really explain. :P
