Turkey Day Tags and Item #1

This weekend I went to town crocheting little leaves from my own Leaf Pattern on CraftStylish. After crocheting it eighteen times (they are remarkably quick!) I can say I am pretty satisfied with the pattern, especially since I went back and forth on it for hours. Sometimes the simplest things can be the toughest. Anyway, I volunteered to make some name cards and thought the leaves would be a nice touch.

The name cards are as simple as it gets: pretty paper + letter stickers = fun times.  If you’re still seeking ideas, check out last year’s post about sewn paper place cards. Even if you’re thinking, “Who uses place cards?!?!”, try it– they will add a touch of festivity to your day (and personally, I don’t care where anyone sits). We’re going over to a friend’s house for the meal and I’m planning on making Alicia’s delicious looking Sour Cream Apple Pie.  I’m very excited about that one. Usually I’m a stickler for pecan and pumpkin, but this time it will be apple.

In the meantime I have been working on adding things to the Hope For Jasenn shop (you can’t see anything just yet, tricky). If you would like to donate something for me to sell, there is still time- please just send me an email or leave a comment and I’ll get back to you with details. I really appreciate it. And, here’s one of the items that will be in the store starting Friday, a one of a kind Lindamade hat festooned with a completely detachable sparkly bird brooch.

Four sparkly birdies flew in from Jenny at least a few months ago and I knew I wanted to use them on limited edition hats, so I layered this one with a yo yo and some buttons, and here it is. This one will go for $45.

  • I'd love to donate something to your shop for Jasenn. Please send me details. Thanks!

I love how those crochet leaves look on the table among the adorable name tags. So pretty and reusable! That's an adorable hat with the brim. And that bird would be great as an ornament or on a wreath too. Cute stuff!

Horray! I wasn't sure if you had seen my nudge/request on CraftStylish for a crocheted leaf pattern. Thank you! I love the look of yarn leaves scattered all over the table. I am sort of playing with the idea of making an autumn scarf of leaves too. So little time, so many things to make!

Thanks Jenny! I almost wanted to keep it for myself, too! There's one other birdie hat in the update...one in a local shop...and the fourth one is still waiting.

  • You've put that birdie to great use, Linda! I knew you would. They were sitting in my sewing box for years just waiting to fly over to you! Gosh, I almost want to buy him back, in all his glory, once the shop opens. Love it. Can't wait to see the others!
