Not A Lot to Say

It has been a rough time for me and my family lately. If the blog is quiet, which I expect it to be, please continue to check back as I’m sure I’ll get into the swing of things again.  I’ve been back from TX for five days now and seem to be spinning my wheels- I have lots of desire to create, but no energy for focus. Couple that with deadlines I put off so that I could help my sister, and it’s no wonder that  I’m not getting much of anything accomplished. So I am working on some fun things from patterns other people have written (yay!), which I’m sure I’ll show you at some point. I’m just feeling pretty bummed lately.  Some things in life just happen, no matter how much you fight them, and that pretty much sucks.

cowl

I did get this cowl worked up on the plane on the way down for the holiday. I can’t even really call it a holiday, but I do remember we opened some presents somewhere in there… Thanks to Casey of Elegant Musings for the inspiration; I didn’t quite follow the original pattern, but if you’d like to, you can find it here (my general mods are in my ravelry).  It’s very warm to wear around my very (VERY!) cold apartment.

onesie

And here’s a cute onesie I upgraded for the neph–I added the long sleeves and some fun layered trims.  I don’ t know what it is, but I just love making stuff for this kid. He is growing more adorable –and smart!–by the minute, and I am so thankful that I got to spend an extra week with him. I am so, so grateful that he is here. He turns one this weekend! Happy Birthday Tegue!!

And in totally unrelated news, CRAFT: and Singer are sponsoring a contest. The challenge: Sew something inspired by nature– you could win a sewing machine, be featured in the mag, etc etc. All of the details are here! Good luck!

  • You're in my thoughts.

  • You are so sweet.

    I love the cowl.

    Your nephew is scrumptious.

    Keep your chin up.

  • Marty

God must have decided that you needed a tiny angel to lift your spirits during this time. Little Tegue has wings, you just can't see them!

  • Kristin

My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family! I lost a close loved one to cancer recently so I get how tough these times are. I hope for good news for your family!!!!

  • beautiful projects, Linda!

sending my good thoughts and love too. That Tegue! I'm excited that we share the same birthday month, he's a sweet little Capricorn!
