Happy Snowy Birthday

Yesterday I was going to post a picture of my finished dress (referred to here), but first I needed to take a picture, preferably outside since there’s too much clutter indoors. But here’s what “outside” looked like in Bozeman yesterday:

snow

Scratch that! You’ll have to wait for dress pics (I’m calling it 80 percent successful, there were definitely tricky parts to the pattern.) We got SO much snow, and it was the really wet kind that clings to everything, which made for a pretty spectacular view. Yesterday also happened to be my birthday (29! Oh no!) and I can safely say it was the snowiest birthday ever. A good birthday is one where I can wear a skirt outside. But I settled for stepping into a cold puddle that went up past my ankle. Love those waterproof Keens…. I actually worked all day- my regular yarn shop shift and then teaching my Learn to Crochet class. I really like this round of new crocheters, they are all pretty excited by the possibilities so I’ve enjoyed sharing some of my favorite crochet resources with them. I had one student who missed the first class and couldn’t believe that the other students had just learned last week. It really is that easy, and by the end of class she was on her way too. After class I came home and Paul had baked me a cake complete with Reese’s peanut butter cups on top.

bday

We ate too much of it and then I opened cards and presents. I asked Paul on the way in if I got any cards in the mail, and he said “Nope, just bills.” He’s such a trickster. All in all, it was a really good day.

  • Hi Linda, I just saw your stuff on Cut Out and Keep. As as fellow 29-year-old named Linda (who grew up in Montana), I feel a little connection to you! I love knitting and being crafty, so looking at your blog is a great inspiration for me to keep on working on my art projects.
    Thanks,
    Linda

  • Happy Birthday! I'm glad you can enjoy snow in mid-April. Frankly, I think I would cry if it snowed again at this point ;-)

Congrats on the move to your own server, BTW. It is so freeing to be able to arrange your sidebars however you want to, isn't it? And speaking of that, I didn't realize you had a book coming out! I may have to learn to crochet so I can buy it. Heh.

Thanks Lisa. Trust me, I wanted to cry with that much snow, but it was kind of spectacular in a way (since it was so wet and clung to everything in sight) so that was a plus. It's all melted now!

And yes, you should learn to crochet if you have any interest! That will make my book easier to use. :)

Wow, happy 29th birthday! I can't believe you got that much snow! Ugh! Looks like you still have a great day. Cheers!

  • Happy Birthday!! And, that snow is insane! Has this not been the wintriest Spring ever? Hope you'll have grass and flowers soon!
