Mother’s Day Weekend

I’m writing to you from the Denver International Airport, where I’ll be residing until 9:30 pm. I got here at 11 this morning, 8 minutes before my connecting flight– and apparently too late to catch it. Can you tell I’m excited to be stuck here? I am returning from a fun surprise weekend for my mom– my sister Ann thought that my brother and I could fly down so that we could all be together for a *happy* occasion for once. And it was fun! I got to see my favorite nephew and we took him swimming for the first time.

tegue, ann and me

He *loved* it!! Kids are so much fun– I love to see Tegue’s brain working while he figures things out. Of course, he was also totally exhausting, but it was worth it.

baby dress

Here’s a sneak peek at a baby dress I’m working on from Lotta Jansdotter’s Simple Sewing for Baby. I’m hoping to finish the dress and put together a little interview with Lotta for the blog in the next week or so- so if you have any questions for Lotta, let me know! On first glance, I love the book- it’s a great combination of practical and fun sewing projects for little ones. Now to wait for that second wave of births among my friends!

Now that I’m done writing this post, maybe I’ll work on some crochet jewelry for my neglected etsy shop. Or eat licorice and read magazines….sigh.

  • Your mom must have been thrilled! Teague is getting cuter and cuter. I know what you mean about being productive. I have to sit my grandkids while my DIL has surgery this week, so I'm trying to push myself to get an order done for the Bean. Hopefully I can deliver it tomorrow, just before the two curtain-climbers descend on us.
