Congratulations – it looks like a great magazine. I think the idea from some commenters to give a Christmas ornament in kids stockings is great. Mine are too old now but I might try it for grandchildren one day. As for Christmas traditions – I have gone to Midnight Mass on Christmas Eve for as long as I can remember and would hate to miss it, especially as I am in the choir! We also, always put chocolate coins and tangerines in the sockings.

How cool…not sure I’ve ever seen this mag before so would love to get my hands on it!

Holiday traditions, hmmm…the one constant, through all of the ups and downs and deaths and births and tiny apartments and grandma’s house: pies. Lots of them, and with the leftover crust bits, dough balls filled with butter and brown sugar.

Congrats on having your name on the cover Linda! The earrings look fun; I haven’t tried crocheting any jewelry yet. One of my favorite holiday traditions is luring my older children who are out of the house back for latkes. That, and watching the little ones light the menorahs are my favorite holiday memories.

This looks like a great magazine but one which I certainly cannot get over here in the UK – boo hoo!! Well done on getting so much of your work published. This is a first time visit to your blog and I shall be back for sure!
One of our family traditions is on Christmas eve when I make a special tomato, orange and ginger soup with homemade potato bread rolls and we have special cheeses. This is all had by candlelight and is followed by a homemade dessert and coffee. When the children were at home we used to open our presents from one another after that and watch a film together – one of the great Christmas ones like Muppet Christmas Carol, You’ve Got Mail, While you were sleeping, Little Women etc. Now they are all fending for themselves I am grateful that our special meal still draws them back home together with boyfriends and this year a husband with one of them!! (I have four daughters!)

I adore this magazine and I think my head would explode if I ever saw my name on the cover! We don’t have any traditions so I would love to start one – perhaps a candlelight family dinner where we’re all sitting down at the same time – not running here and there!

Yay! I “blog know” a published author, with her name on the cover and all! My holiday tradition: when I was little, I used to make “holiday hats” for everyone at thanksgiving. We have a photo in an old family album with my 85 year old Irish grandfather, very dour and solemn as always, with a “pilgrim hat” stuck to his forehead with scotch tape.

Congratulations Linda! Those earrings are beautiful, and you’ve reminded me of my intention to subscribe to this magazine– I have one issue and I loved it, but I keep forgetting.

When I was little, I must have been a sound sleeper because my mother would sneak into my room Christmas night while I was asleep and decorate my doll house for Christmas! I’d wake up and there’d be a little tree and presents in there, and little dollhouse boughs of holly, and always one or two new dollhouse things I’d have to hunt around in there to find. Whenever my girls are old enough for a doll house, I’d like to make it a tradition in our house too!

Congratulations on the magazine — that’s great! I crochet and make jewelry, and am currently trying to fuse the two together. Your patterns would help me get started.

I suppose my favorite holiday tradition is wrapping presents with my Dad. He always wraps presents very carefully, with lots of attention to detail. I think that’s where I got my love of gift adornment.
