A Great Day for Crochet + Knitting

I’m super excited to announce the launch of a new online knitting AND crochet magazine, Tangled. The mag contains both free + for purchase downloadable patterns, and it truly gives equal billing to knitting and crochet. The best part? Each issue has one design that’s “cross threaded“–that is, written for both knit and crochet. Each craft can learn something from the other, and designer Tracy St. John (one of the brains behind the operation!) will explain how. In this issue, it’s a floral skirt, check out both versions here. (Photos in this post courtesy of Tangled)

cross_threaded

The magazine was produced by Tracy St. John and Brittany Tyler–both Bozemanites who work at Stix, where I paid several visits when shopping for yarn. Incredibly, I never met Tracy, because I worked at the beloved Bozeman Yarn Shop, where I was much of the time. Nutty. I’m really excited that they have worked so hard to equally feature knitting and crochet, and can’t wait to see future issues. I contributed Stellar, a ripple-inspired beret, at the very last minute (thanks ladies!) made from just one skein of Mini Mochi sock yarn.

Go forth and check it out (here it is on Ravelry, too!). In addition to those awesome wonder twins skirts, I’m really liking this free crochet Ringo Cowl, Tracy’s wonderful Cameron pullover, and the knit Hyde Park Hat and Mittens.

Thanks for the heads up. What a brilliant publication! I love seeing the same idea executed in the two arts, plus all the other great designs. And the queue gets longer......

Sounds like a cool magazine! What a great idea to offer written patterns for both knit and crochet. Those skirts are awesome, especially with the ankle boots.
