Day 9: Brett Bara and Knit Picks
Today’s first stop is with Brett Bara of Manhattan Craft Room. You might know her as the host of Knit and Crochet Now, or the founding editor of Crochet Today magazine. But when I lived in New York, she was my lunchtime buddy, sounding board/excellent listener, and of course, the crochet hip-ifying lady you know her to be. She’s an all around crafter and her own book is coming out soon–Sewing in a Straight Line. She’s also a jello mold making queen–watch this video, it’s amazing. I feel so lucky to know Brett both as a friend and a colleague. Check out her blog for a quick Q&A with yours truly.
Although I have more recent photos of the two of us, instead, let’s enjoy this blast from the past (2007). Wow, I can’t believe that was four years ago!! Ah, New York City summers…
Also going up today is a podcast I did with the lovely Allison from KnitPicks, which you can find right here. I talked with Allison about Little Crochet, crochet in general, and what I’m up to next.
And, here’s a gratuitous photo from my book signing at Yarnivore last night. It was lots of fun–thanks to all of you who came out to say hi + check out the book!
I loved meeting this little guy. He was sleepy, but let’s just take his smile as a nod of kid-approval for Stripe the Giraffe!
