Upcoming Classes

Before the month gets away from me (how does this keep happening?!) I wanted to mention some classes and events in San Antonio + Austin, TX.

Swing Set Cardigan from my book, Little Crochet

This weekend at Yarnivore, I’m starting a 2-lesson class on the Swing Set Cardigan from Little Crochet. We’ll learn to make increases, read patterns, and mainly I’ll just get you going on this sweet and fun pattern. It’s a breeze once you get past the yoke, and you’ll be amazed at how quickly they work up. Tammy has already made two of them, I daresay she is becoming better friends with her crochet hook. Class meets Saturdays, May 14th and 21st from 11-1.

I’ll also be teaching Learn to Crochet this+ next Saturday from 3-5 pm, and a one-time class on how to read patterns on Sunday, May 15th from 12-2 PM. There are still spots open in all of these classes so if you’ve been eager to learn, call and sign up. (210)979-8255

Tegue's Jingle Ball from Little Crochet
I’m also doing a book signing + class in Austin at The Knitting Nest on Sunday, May 22nd. I first went to the Knitting Nest a few weeks ago for the Flamies-related events, and out of the corner of my eye I could see that Stacy (the owner) was pouring over my book.  I saw her fall in love a little- and she already made a Jingle Ball from my book, and has started a Mix and Match Motif Blanket, too.  Stacy is was a mostly knitter and showed me how up to the point where we met, she mostly made edgings and that kind of thing with crochet. But I saw the determination in her eyes and she is off and running!

Because she loved Tegue’s Jingle Ball so  much, that’s what I’ll be teaching as a class on Sunday afternoon. The signing is from 1-2 and the class is from 2:30 -5 (I think). I’ll teach you some color management strategies (since there are so many in this ball) and help you read from diagrams–or patterns–whichever you prefer. Plus it will just be a lot of fun. We’ll have a ball, as it were. Be sure to call the Knitting Nest to sign up, as space is limited. 512-291-8866

And if you can’t make these, don’t forget about my Online Crochet Classes. Thanks to everyone who has signed up, I’m having a  lot of fun so far–and hope you are too!

You seem to have such great business sense to go along with your terrific crochet skills and creativity!

  • I love this pattern! I just got your book last week and this was my first ever attempt at something other than a blanket/afghan. Your book has so many cute things I can't wait to try. Thanks so much for your inspiration! I just started to blog about the different projects I am working on and can't wait to try more of your patterns. :)
