Trunk Show!

Remember that “Dog Show” skit on Saturday Night Live? That’s what I think of when I excitedly say trunk show! Since March is National Crochet Month, Sheryl Means of Yarntopia (in Katy, TX) and I got our heads together and I sent her a smattering of crochet samples to display around the store. Mind you, I have no doubt that there are already plenty of samples already residing at Yarntopia, but just in case.

yarntopia1Shown (L to R): Wood Blocks Cardigan, Peanut Butter (Cardigan),
Artichoke Hat, Circles Scarf and Mix and Match Motif Blanket

Look at the pretty display she made! Browsing on Ravelry is fun but being able to touch samples is even better, so head on down there this month if you want to pet, try on, etc. Sheryl’s also teaching my Zipline Shell as a class this month, which is sure to be lots of fun. This is a great first garment pattern, and Sheryl is the perfect person to help you through it if you need a boost. Below is my me-sized sample in blue.

Trunk Show at YarntopiaShown (L to R): Zipline Shell, Swing Set Cardigan,
Beyond Rectangles Cardigan and Ribbed Cardigan

Be sure to stop by and check out the crochet friendliness. And if you’re a yarn shop with a noticeable lack of crochet samples, hey, maybe you want to have a Linda Permann trunk show? Ravelry in-store pattern sales make it easy to sell patterns and yarn (and you can easily order my books for your customers!), plus my samples feel productive when they’re out in the wild. It’s food for thought.

Oh yeah, and just because I’ve totally neglected mentioning it sooner, I’ll be teaching at the Yellow Rose Fiber Producers Fiesta on April 20th (a Friday). Go on and sign up for classes if you’re local-ish. Just tell your boss you came down with a case of crochet fever.

Would love to see these in person! Since I can't get to Katy anytime soon, I'm going to see if Twisted Yarns (in Spring, TX) would like to have a chance at your trunk show!

    Thanks Janet, I'd appreciate that!
