About Me

LPermann_sm
I’m a native San Antonian and recently returned to my home state of Texas, by way of New York City and Bozeman, Montana. Crocheting is my passion, but I love to sew, knit and quilt too. I wear many hats: I’m a crochet and craft designer, writer, editor and a crochet/knitting teacher and Yarnivore employee. I also teach online courses at Craftsy.com.

I am the author of two books: Crochet Adorned and Little Crochet. I really love creating modern patterns using quality yarns, and I want to show everyone that crochet is beautiful! I have contributed crochet and craft projects to several books, including Stitch and Bitch Crochet, Hooked:A Crocheter’s Stash of Wit and Wisdom, The Crafter Culture Handbook, Bead Simple, Vogue Knitting on the Go: Grannies, Button it Up, and Knitting for Good.

My work has also been featured in many magazines including Crochet Today, Interweave Crochet, Knit Simple, Knitting Today!, Living CraftsBUST, Craft:, Make, Sew Simple, CraftStylish and Sew Stylish. My patterns have also been featured on the TV show Knit and Crochet Now. I was the founding Craft and Decorating Editor of Adorn magazine (short lived but well loved!).

Check out my Ravelry designer page right here. You can follow me on twitter and facebook, too!

I wish you taught knitting classes.  I have been trying to learn to knit for years and I cannot master that craft.  I can crochet with the best of them, but knitting has me beat.

  • lindamade

There are plenty of knitting teachers out there (I taught that too, actually)-- don't let not learning from me stop you.

Linda! When are you & Paul leaving Bozeman? I REALLY want to get some of your work before you leave. I LOVE IT! I love the granny scrap quilt that you're working on. Would any of those squares be thick enough for hot pads? I love the colors. Also, do you ever make tote/bucket bags pieced like the bib you gave us? I thought that would be nice with some of your crochet flowers on it. What do you think? Congrats! on the new book.

I've been enjoying reading your blog! I crocheted as a child and teenager but never did much with it later in life.

Linda! I have been thinking about you and wondering where in the world you were living these days. What is your new phone number. I called the one I had and it rang and rang.....Good think the internet is littered (i mean that in a fun way!) with crafts and reports about you. I see you have moved to Montana! Good for you!! Has Paul made you the missus yet? Let me know what you are up to. Will you be in SA for christmas? Maybe I can stop by and say hi really quickly. Would love to see you. Huggggssss!
