Book Signing at Stash

Last weekend we headed down to Castle Rock so I could sign some books at Stash, a gem of a yarn shop just to the south of Denver. Look at the cute setup they had for me!

Crystal (the owner) and Heather (crocheter and hook designer extraordinaire) were so warm and welcoming, it was really lovely. [...]

Signs of Life

Whew. It’s been a whirlwind of visits, working, and trying to sneak in some crochet time. So far so good, I’m really enjoying getting up and going to work every day, being surrounded by smart people and thinking about possibilities.

My sister and nephew were in town last weekend so we crammed in a lot of [...]

Handmade Holiday 2011

Since it’s February already–mid-Feb, at that, you might think the title of this post was referring to Valentine’s Day, but you’d be wrong. I still haven’t shared my gifts from the winterholidays last year, but so it is. I had a bit of time and a flash of inspiration that led to me making a [...]

Mr. Owl

A few weeks ago, a crocheter sent me a note on Ravelry with a nice story about the Soft Owl Pillow that she made from my book, Little Crochet. It’s the sweetest little story, and so I thought I would share it with you here.

Just wanted to thank you for such a wonderful treasure in [...]

Orange!

Just a quickie drop-in to share some photos and projects with you. It’s funny, I usually dive deep to find things to post about, but this week I have tons to post about and not a lot of time.

First, I wanted to share this FREE pattern of mine: the Pill(ow) Popper, courtesy of Caron. The [...]

Happy (Little) Holidays

So, I know it’s a little early to be thinking about the holidays coming up–after all, I just hung my Halloween decorations. But, as I was searching for something quick and fun to offer as a class in November, I came across some leftover Noro Silk Garden Sock in my stash (I used the rest [...]

Ode to Yarnivore

Even though they are always super busy, I love Sundays at Yarnivore.  We have quite a few knitters and crocheters who drop in to work on their projects, and it’s always a lot of fun.
Patrick, Tammy and Moses working away.
You can see in the photo above that Tammy did a speed test on the Soft [...]

The Best Part: Cool Stuff You Made

The biggest thrill that I get as a crochet designer/ author is seeing people’s projects when they take the time to make one of my patterns. I love to see what y’all come up with, it’s so inspiring! When  you add your projects to ravelry, I can see the ones made with my patterns in [...]

The Knitting Nest

Thanks to everyone who came out to my book signing and class at The Knitting Nest in Austin. It was so nice to see some old friends and meet some new ones. One woman told me she had made my Raspberry Beret pattern at least 30 times–wow!!

Here are the lovely ladies from my Tegue’s Jingle [...]

Tegue’s Sweater

Despite having lots of projects I should be working on–you know, the kind with deadlines?–I was recently inspired to start a sweater for my nephew. If you read the dedication in Little Crochet, you’ll see that the book is dedicated him, he is just an amazingly sweet little guy. I’m going to take next week [...]
