What We Did On Our Summer Vacation

Last Saturday, Paul and I got in the car and headed out west.

I brought a crochet project with me. The yarn is Berroco Flicker, which I couldn’t resist at Stitches. The pattern is one of my own that will hopefully be published very soon because I wrote it almost a year ago!  On the first [...]

So, We Live Here Now

We all made it to Colorado safe and sound. My sister Mary helped us drive up and we arrived last Friday, and since then have been in a hustle of furnishing the house, exploring our new digs, and trying not to go insane. It’s amazing to think we live here now–the weather has been awesome [...]

On the Road Again…

I’m writing tonight from Wheatland, Wyoming to tell you that Etsy’s Storque has posted a free project from my book on their website, go check it out! (To entice you without giving it away, it’s the easiest, most beginner friendly project in the book.)
We (and by we, I mean Paul) did a ton of driving [...]

My Mini “Vacation”

Last weekend my sisters Ann and Amy came up with my nephew Tegue to see the sites of Montana. Paul and I took them to see a waterfall at Hyalite Reservoir, where Tegue actually did a lot of the hiking himself. He was kind of annoyed that he couldn’t get in the waterfall, but once [...]

Book Winner and Montana Landscapes

Sorry for my latent posting of the winner of Lotta Jasndotter’s Simple Sewing for Babies. I went to ye olde random number generator and it picked #31- RedHead. I will be emailing you for your address, congrats! I loved reading all of your comments about sewing for babies and which babies you would sew for. [...]

Blog Break

Sorry I haven’t written, but I was runnning around Montana with my father and brother.

We were in Glacier National Park just two days ago and I can’t believe it. Coming back is always hard! The blog will likely be quiet this week as I get back into the grind. In the mean time, you can [...]

Along the Beartooth Highway

Yesterday we woke up early and made our way to the Beartooth Highway for some spectacular scenery. The best part of the day came early– we were driving on Trail Creek Road and a black bear crossed the street right in front of us. He was too quick for the cameras, but we were the [...]

WTF World?

To all of you complaining about the heat wave, at least you didn’t wake up to this.

Seriously, WTF? It’s 34 degrees out and still snowing. It’s JUNE. It’s bad enough that there’s no beach nearby, and that it’s been raining off and on for weeks–but this? this? Oh the humanity.
p.s. dear apartment complex: I think it’s [...]

Dandelion Explosion

There are ridiculous amounts of dandelions all over town–I love it. Here’s a pretty field we passed on a drive yesterday (it was about to storm)…

And here are my muddy feet from our hike today, with dandelions. We heard lots of thunder, so we ended up turning around when we were almost to the hard part [...]

Still here…

Since I last updated….

Somebody got his Master’s degree. Yay!

And we’ve been doing some day trips, including one to yellowstone last Friday. It is baby bison season, and they are all SO cute. They are the little orange furballs looking exhausted in the above photo.  I took some better/closer pics with Paul’s camera but he hasn’t uploaded them [...]
